ENVIRONMENTAL
DESIGN?
Environmental Design is the place where design-thinking and systems-thinking meet. In this major, students learn to address problems with critical thinking, and then present our thoughts graphically through design. There is also a great amount of flexibility with the environmental design major that allows students to tailor the major to their specific interests and passions. With an interdisciplinary construction, students are exposed to graphic design, architecture, interior architecture, building science, industrial design, and urban planning fields. Students become dynamic and nimble thinkers that are prepared to take on a number of different jobs, or create a job of their own. Environmental designers collaborate with clients in a more natural design process in order to improve different systems by making them more sustainable and/or making them more human-centric.
